Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Lee Harvey Oswald were two of the most iconic figures of the 20th century. Jackie was the glamorous wife of President John F. Kennedy, while Lee was the assassin who killed him. Their lives were intertwined in tragedy and glamour, and their stories continue to fascinate people to this day.

Jackie Kennedy Onassis

Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was born on July 28, 1929, in Southampton, New York. She was the daughter of John Vernou Bouvier III, a stockbroker, and Janet Lee Bouvier, a socialite. Jackie grew up in a wealthy and privileged environment. She attended the Chapin School in New York City and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. After graduating from Vassar, Jackie worked as a reporter for the Washington Times-Herald.

In 1952, Jackie met John F. Kennedy, a young congressman from Massachusetts. They were married in 1953. Jackie became First Lady of the United States in 1961, when John F. Kennedy was elected President. Jackie was a popular and stylish First Lady. She was admired for her beauty, her fashion sense, and her intelligence. She also became a role model for women around the world.

In 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Jackie was devastated by her husband's death. She remained a private person for many years after his death. In 1968, she married Aristotle Onassis, a Greek shipping magnate. Jackie and Onassis lived together until his death in 1975. Jackie died of cancer in 1994.

Lee Harvey Oswald

Lee Harvey Oswald was born on October 18, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of Robert Edward Oswald, a factory worker, and Marguerite Claverie Oswald, a beautician. Oswald's parents divorced when he was young, and he was raised by his mother. Oswald was a troubled child. He was expelled from school several times, and he ran away from home at the age of 15. Oswald eventually joined the Marines, but he was discharged after less than two years.

After leaving the Marines, Oswald traveled to the Soviet Union. He lived there for three years, and he became a Marxist. Oswald returned to the United States in 1962. He settled in Dallas, Texas, where he got a job as a clerk in a warehouse.

On November 22, 1963, Oswald assassinated President Kennedy in Dallas. Oswald was arrested two days later. He was charged with murder, but he was never convicted. Oswald was shot and killed by Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963, while he was being transferred from the city jail to the county jail.

The Aftermath

The assassination of President Kennedy had a profound impact on the United States. It led to a period of national mourning and soul-searching. The assassination also had a lasting impact on Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Lee Harvey Oswald. Jackie became a symbol of grief and resilience. She was admired for her strength and her dignity in the face of tragedy. Oswald, on the other hand, became a symbol of evil and hatred. His assassination was seen as a fitting end to a life of violence and crime.

The lives of Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Lee Harvey Oswald were intertwined in tragedy and glamour. They were two of the most iconic figures of the 20th century, and their stories continue to fascinate people to this day.
