Artistic Training and Career: In 1841, Bogolyubov enrolled at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, where he studied under renowned marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky. Under Aivazovsky's guidance, Bogolyubov refined his skills in depicting the dynamic and atmospheric qualities of the sea.

Exploring the Russian Seas: Upon graduating from the academy, Bogolyubov embarked on extensive sea voyages, capturing the diverse landscapes and maritime activities along the Russian coastline. He traveled to the White Sea, the Arctic Ocean, and the Baltic Sea, immersing himself in the beauty and grandeur of these vast bodies of water.
